Wall Mounted Ballet Barres

We make our own brackets for wall mounting barres, fully welded mild steel with primed and enamelled finish.

Wall Mounted Barres

Mounting:

The brackets need to be screwed into something solid, either wall studs for gibbed walls, or masonry plugs if concrete. If there is nothing suitable what we normally do for single barres is bolt a 180x46 plank to the wall for the full width of the barre or wall (whichever looks best), then the brackets screw to the plank at appropriate spacings for the barre. For double brackets we have bolted 92x46 planks 1200 high to the wall where the brackets are to go then screwed these through to the dwangs with 10x90 screws.

We usually mount the centre bracket first, then use a string line and level from the top of the bracket which the barre actually screws to to determine the heights of the rest of the brackets.

The barres have 3mm deep flats machined to the bottom face where they screw on to the brackets. We screw the barre to the centre bracket first with a 25mm screw, then 1 screw to each of the other brackets so that when you sight along the barre it is straight (there is usually a bow in the wall). Then screw permanently into place with 40mm screws.
